Deep Mentions

Visual and biometric detection of your likeness in content.

What Are Deep Mentions?

Deep Mentions are visual/biometric detections of your likeness in content across the web. Unlike regular mentions that find your name in text, Deep Mentions use facial recognition technology to find images and videos where you appear—even when your name isn't mentioned.

Regular Mentions

Text-based detection when your name appears in posts, articles, or captions

Deep Mentions

Visual detection when your face or likeness appears in images or videos

Requirements to Unlock Deep Mentions

Deep Mentions require additional verification and consent due to their biometric nature:

  1. Identity Verification
Complete identity verification through Stripe Identity
  2. Biometric Consent
Opt in to biometric matching in Settings → Privacy
  3. Reference Images
Upload clear photos of yourself to your license for accurate matching

How to Enable Biometric Consent

  1. Complete identity verification first (if not already done)
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy
  3. Find the "Biometric Matching" section
  4. Read the disclosure about how biometric data is used
  5. Toggle "Enable Biometric Matching" to ON
  6. Confirm your consent

Privacy First: Your biometric data is processed securely and never shared with third parties. It's used solely to identify your likeness in monitored content.

How Deep Mentions Work

  • Facial Recognition
Your reference images are used to create a facial signature. This signature is compared against faces found in monitored content sources.
  • Confidence Scoring
Each potential match receives a confidence score. Higher scores indicate stronger matches. You can review and confirm or dismiss matches.
  • Actionable Results
Deep Mentions integrate with claims and enforcement tools, giving you stronger evidence when asserting your rights.

Viewing Deep Mentions

Deep Mentions appear alongside regular mentions on the Mentions page:

  • Look for mentions with the "Visual Match" or "Deep" indicator
  • View the matched image thumbnail alongside the source content
  • Check the confidence score to assess match quality
  • Click through to see the full content where you were detected

Tip: Use the filter on the Mentions page to show only Deep Mentions if you want to focus on visual matches.

Improving Match Accuracy

Better reference images lead to more accurate Deep Mentions:

  • Multiple angles: Include front-facing and profile photos
  • Good lighting: Clear, well-lit photos work best
  • Recent photos: Use images that reflect your current appearance
  • Variety: Include photos with different expressions and settings
  • High resolution: Higher quality images enable better matching

Revoking Biometric Consent

You can revoke biometric consent at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy
  2. Toggle "Enable Biometric Matching" to OFF
  3. Confirm the revocation

What Happens When You Revoke

  • Future biometric matching stops immediately
  • Existing Deep Mention records are preserved for your reference
  • You can re-enable at any time to resume matching

Privacy & Security

  • Biometric data is encrypted and stored securely
  • Facial signatures are never shared externally
  • You control whether biometric matching is active
  • All processing complies with applicable privacy laws
